Wedding trends spring summer 2025
The anticipation begins. Your wedding day is approaching, and it’s time to answer the question: what will you wear? We’ve spotted the trends for the upcoming spring and summer just for you.
First and foremost, regardless of trends, we believe the most important thing is to choose an outfit in which you feel comfortable and true to yourself. Read more about the process of ordering a custom wedding suit here.
Colors
We’re seeing plenty of soft pastel tones. Trending colors for spring and summer 2025 include soft pink and soft purple. Muted rust tones and sandy hues are also popular. For men who prefer deeper shades during spring, taupe and chocolate brown are trending. Green remains a stylish choice for wedding clients this year. While past years featured brighter greens, the current trend leans towards muted green—think pastel green.
Fits
It’s no secret that the Dutch aren’t typically at the forefront of fashion trends. Yet, we’re increasingly seeing surprises. More clients are asking for the comfort fit, which is undoubtedly the leader this season. This marks a shift away from the tailored and ultra-slim fits. But what does this relaxed fit entail?
Suits with this cut fit less snugly against the body. Waists are less tightly cinched, and trousers have wider legs, both at the thighs and hem. Jackets feature lightweight canvassing, and shoulder padding is ultra-soft, following the body’s natural lines. Waistbands sit comfortably higher on the waist. This fit allows fabrics to drape naturally, emphasizing a fluid and effortless look.
That said, your wedding suit will always have the fit you desire.
Style
When it comes to popular suit styles for the upcoming season, a few key trends stand out. In our opinion, the three-piece suit is often the best choice for grooms. A three-piece suit not only elevates you above even the best-dressed guests but also earns you compliments when you remove your jacket. Want to add a playful touch to your outfit? Consider a waistcoat with a micro-design— a subtle pattern in a color that complements the suit’s primary hue.
And oh, how excited we are—the double-breasted jacket is making a comeback! These jackets are being presented in all imaginable variations, including the classic six-button, timeless four-button, and minimalist two-button designs. They’re all welcome, and they can be worn unbuttoned for a relaxed yet polished look.
To complete your look, consider pairing your suit with trousers that feature pleats. These subtle pleats not only enhance comfort but also add a touch of sophistication.
Materials
Let’s get straight to it—two materials stand out this season: wool blends and mesh.
To maximize comfort, many European mills have creatively mixed wool with silk, linen, and sometimes a hint of stretch. These combinations produce fabrics that look less formal but feel luxurious. Imagine the softness of wool, combined with the playfulness of linen and the richness of silk.
For those who prefer more texture, mesh (a member of the hopsack family) is an excellent choice. This open-weave pure wool fabric has a less smooth finish, making it feel less formal. Its airy structure is ideal for warmer days.
Styling
This season, we’re seeing more outfits finished with a tie rather than without. Pocket squares are also more popular than boutonnieres. Loafers worn with invisible socks are trending, and suede loafers, in particular, are in. Soft shades like sand, beige, and light brown are dominating.
The classic white shirt remains the go-to choice for wedding suits. However, for casual weddings, we’re seeing short-sleeve cardigans and soft-knit crochet polos as alternatives.
